For five years, I have been attempting to gain entrance into medical school. I was told that my credentials were impressive; however, my standardized test score needed to go up one point to be deemed competent enough to successfully complete medical school. I attempted to take the test three more times and my score went down a point the first time, stayed the same the second time, and went down three points the third. Having always excelled in school and not having many setbacks, I was devastated and considered myself a failure. I figured, like some people told me, some people just don't test well.
After joining Guiding Light and becoming active, I read Bishop's book "Achieving Your Divine Potential" and recited our confession every Wednesday and Sunday. Soon, my spirit agreed with what I was hearing.... I was created to excel not fail.
One day, I sat in Bible Study, and Bishop said that we were not made to be in second place, we can be the best. I felt like he was talking to me. I talked to Deacon Angela, and she told me that even when a desire is placed in your heart by God, you have to work hard for it. I put those two together, and presented them to God. He (God) agreed that they were right.
He (God) then proceeded to give me clear instructions on how to prepare. I followed His instructions. After 4 months of preparation, I took the test. Not only did I get the score the schools wanted, I got three points higher and even exceeded the goal I set for myself. I have been accepted to the first medical school I interviewed for, and I have more interviews coming up!
